Hi, I am Afrin and I am a master thesis student in PKV Lab. I am a final year undergraduate under the department of chemical sciences at IISER Mohali with a specialization in organic chemistry, natural products and process development. In this lab with an inter-disciplinary research setting, I work on sterol-based quaternary ammonium and phosphonium compounds with potential anti-biofilm and anti-microbial activity. I previously completed an internship in this laboratory, an experience I greatly enjoyed, which led me to return to the same group for my master’s thesis.

Hobbies: Passionate about singing, dancing, and perfumery. I have attended classical music sessions, workshops and competitions
