Arthi N

I am a biomaterial scientist with research expertise in designing biomimetic nanofiber scaffolds and sutures for tissue regeneration. I completed my Ph.D. in Biotechnology at IIT Madras, focusing on the fabrication of nanofiber yarn-based sutures and scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. During this period, I was awarded the Gandhian Young Technological Investigator Award by BIRAC-SRISTI for my work on “Nanofiber Yarn Suture: A Medical Device.”

Gaurav Bhagwan Pawar

I have completed my PhD in medicinal chemistry. In my doctoral research, I developed novel synthetic methodologies for C–C and C–N bond formation, and their application in the synthesis of fused heterocyclic scaffolds with antimicrobial activity. In addition, I have experience in molecular docking. Currently, I am working on the application of bioisosterism for the development of new chemical entities for the treatment of leaky gut disorders and for immunosuppression to prevent graft rejection.

Hobbies: Outside of research, I enjoy playing cricket, football, and badminton.

Priyanka Makhal

I have completed my master's in Medicinal Chemistry from NIPER, Mohali and PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from NIPER, Hyderabad. During my PhD, I have explored organoselenium compounds as antiproferative agents. I am currently working on novel pesticides that are inspired by the plant metabolites  and antibiofilm compounds for catheter associated urinary tract infections as a collaborative project.

Venkatesh Ravula

I am an organic chemist with interdisciplinary expertise in drug development, drug and gene delivery, and translational biomaterials. My research focuses on the design and synthesis of functional molecules and materials for biomedical applications, including non-viral gene delivery systems, lipid-based nanocarriers, and small-molecule therapeutics. Through my work, I aim to bridge fundamental chemistry with translational therapeutic outcomes.

Manas Kumar Pradhan

Basically I am a Material Chemist and my background is Chemistry. I earned my Doctorate degree from IISER Bhopal in 2024, followed by joining this lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Here in this lab my research focuses on the design and development of stimuli-responsive prodrug-based self-assembled hydrogel systems for diverse biomedical applications, including antibacterial therapy and vascularized composite allotransplantation (VCA). In a parallel project, I am developing an antibacterial self-assembled rinsing solution for the treatment of oral inflammation.

Mukesh Dhanka

I am Post-Doctoral Fellow in Praveen’s Lab. I have received my Master’s and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from IIT Bombay. My current research interests are mainly in therapeutics delivery, immunology and biomaterials. My PhD work was on the development of injectable composite biomaterials for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Utkarsh Bhutani

Hi-I am Utkarsh, Postdoctoral Fellow in Praveen’s lab. I received my Bachelors in Biotechnology from VIT University and completed Masters (2014) and PhD (2019) in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. During my PhD, I worked on cross-linker free sodium alginate and gelatin hydrogels and identified the role of plasticizers and monovalent salts in modifying the physical properties of these gels.

Varuna H P

Hello - I am Varuna H P. I have joined Praveen’s lab as a post-doctoral fellow. I did my masters (M.Sc) in Biochemistry from University of Mysore, Mysore, where I developed interest towards the field of small proteins and peptide biochemistry. I got my Ph.D.
